We partnered with Waste Management to work on two of our very first landfill jobs. Taking on a new kind of work can be a challenge, but our capable team rose to the occasion and leveraged their previous experience to skillfully move 900,000 cubic yards in just five months.
Laraway Landfill
This project marked our first landfill project as a company, although many of our team members have plenty of previous experience in this market. Waste Management hired us to provide mass excavation services at this landfill in Joliet, Illinois. Our crews constructed two new landfill cells, placed and graded leachate aggregate material, and capped a completed landfill section.
Prairie View Landfill
Our crews performed mass excavation services for the Prairie View Landfill in Wilmington, Illinois. The scope of work included new cell construction, placing and grading leachate aggregate, and capping a completed slope section. Our operations team did amazing work on this project, adapting and modifying daily tasks to align with the various soil conditions we encountered.
Earthwork is still our main focus, but since people are always producing waste, the landfill market enables us to provide year-round work to our amazing team. We’re really proud of the ways our crews have worked together to solve new problems, and we look forward to seeing how this area of the business grows.
