The LogiPark 57-80 project – a 102-acre multi-warehouse distribution hub in Country Club Hills, IL – called for the construction of three industrial warehouses and one future warehouse. Working for Alston Construction, Witech crews utilized Quadtracs with scraper pull pans, along with D8s and scraper pull pans to move over 500,000 CY of dirt, getting all three building slabs and associated concrete pavement to sub-grade. Altogether, excavation and backfill of the three buildings totaled more than 1.2 million SF, with 500,000 SY of the dirt requiring chemical modification.
Structural excavation work included the interior pier pads and dock levelers.
Additional work on this project included placing 90,000 tons of aggregate under concrete building slabs on grade and exterior ductilcrete pavement. They also had to construct four large basins, of which two required special bottoms for drainage and native plantings per specifications governed by MWRD.
