Project Details

Witech Excavating partnered with Lennar Homes on the Astoria Subdivision in St. John, Indiana. This 65-acre residential development was awarded in September 2024 with an expected duration of nine months. The primary goal of the project was to prepare the site for new home construction and achieve half of the paving before winter to allow Lennar to begin vertical work through the colder months. The project included full site preparation, from topsoil removal to final grading, and was completed successfully in 2025. All roads were paved on schedule, and homebuilding is now underway.

The project required careful coordination due to the presence of two active gas pipelines running through the center of the site. Witech installed proper pipeline crossings to ensure the safe movement of heavy equipment and maintained production without delay.
Through strong planning, experienced leadership, and efficient grading operations, Witech successfully met Lennar’s schedule goals — completing the project safely, on time, and to specification.
