Nick Frederick, vice president, started working at Witech during his junior year of high school in 2006 as a shop helper, doing whatever was needed: washing trucks, running parts, and assisting mechanics. After graduation, he operated heavy equipment on projects in the field while taking night classes in construction engineering and management at Purdue University Northwest.
In 2014, he became an estimator and project manager. His duties included everything from pre-construction to project closeout on jobs in the industrial, commercial, residential and energy industries.
Promoted to vice president in 2019, Nick is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with employees and clients, business development, estimating; project management, equipment purchasing and sales, and overseeing company assets and finances.
He obtained company ownership in 2020, but believes his experience working his way up the ladder helps him relate to all employees. His humble attitude, along with a genuine concern for his employees and clients, which is echoed in the corporate culture, stems from his Christian faith.
He still enjoys estimating, project management and visiting project sites, where he can witness plans developed in the office being executed in the field. When he’s not in the office, he appreciates being outdoors and can often be found cycling, hunting, golfing or spending time with his wife and four children at the family lake.
