Jacob Slivka

For Jacob Slivka, the joy of his work comes from seeing a landscape transform from a cornfield into a new building. He grew up around construction, and it didn’t take him long to realize that he wanted to be immersed in the dirt world, as his father and grandfather have been.

Jacob is a project engineer at Witech, which means he builds models to help estimators with their proposals. His work also affects operators since his models are used in the dozers and rovers’ GPS systems. Soon he’ll be using drones to chart the progress of each job and assess the initial topography.

It’s not always a cakewalk. Jacob often has to create a correct, neat model for the estimator to bid the job without access to CAD files. Lack of detail on the plans means Jacob has to build the components by trial and error to furnish estimators with a great model.

Fortunately, he has the support of every Witech team member behind him and the inspiration and heart to learn. He loves what he does every day and only has plans to keep growing.
