Chet Olson

Chet Olson joined Witech in March 2025 as Vice President of Pre-Construction, bringing with him over 24 years of experience in the heavy construction industry. A third-generation earth mover, Chet has been immersed in the field from a young age and began his career as a laborer to help fund his college education.

At Witech, Chet is responsible for estimating, project management, and business development. He is known for his strategic approach to competitive bidding and his ability to guide projects from concept through completion. His experience spans a wide range of complex earth-moving projects, including the Heritage Harbor redevelopment in Ottawa, Illinois—a major undertaking involving extensive dewatering, cofferdams, and over 800,000 cubic yards of shale excavation.

Chet attributes his success to the mentorship he received early in his career, which instilled in him a strong work ethic, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence. He is passionate about advancing the industry by embracing innovative technologies such as GPS and drone systems, and he advocates for greater awareness of the career opportunities available in the trades.

Originally from Oswego, Illinois, where he still resides, Chet values time with his family and enjoys spending his free time outdoors—hunting, fishing, and golfing. His leadership is grounded in integrity, dedication, and a deep respect for the traditions and innovations that shape the construction industry.
