Joining Witech in 2009, Candido Rocha, general superintendent, says he was “born” to do this kind of work. With a background in concrete work, he’s experienced at digging footings, laying out where and how deep to grade and adjusting to the topography through use of GPS. Adept at calculating rock quantities, running a chute and performing final finishes to perfection, Candido says learning to use architectural numbers was the hardest job he ever conquered.
But he’s very much a working foreman and will do whatever the job requires, whether it’s jumping into a dump truck to move dirt or shoveling and grading by hand.
Witech was so impressed by Candido’s work ethic for another company, they offered him a job. Highly prized by his co-workers for his dedication and professionalism, he expresses pride in his employers, whom he calls fair and caring.
Married with four kids, Candido enjoys family time when he’s not on the job.
